Peter E. Chisholm

Peter E. Chisholm was born and raised in Cornwall, Ontario.
Peter obtained a B.A. (Hons.) in law and sociology with a concentration in criminology from Carleton University in 1989. He received an LL.B. (cum laude) from the University of Ottawa in 1993. He clerked in the Federal Court of Canada for The Honourable Mr. Justice Marshall E. Rothstein from 1993 to 1994.
Upon being called to the bar of Ontario in February of 1995, Peter practiced primarily in the areas of civil and criminal litigation at a law firm in Cornwall.
In June of 2000, Peter joined the law firm of McDonald, Duncan where he has continued to practice primarily in the areas of civil and criminal litigation.
During his legal career, Peter has appeared before the Tax Court of Canada, the Court of Appeal For Ontario, the Ontario Divisional Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court and the Ontario Court of Justice. In addition, Peter has pursued an administrative law practice appearing before a variety of boards and tribunals.
During his career, Peter has acted for a variety of clients including insurers, financial institutions, public institutions, private corporations and individual litigants.
Most recently, Peter was engaged in representing a public institution at The Cornwall Public Inquiry which began its hearings in late 2005.
